Unclean and Wasps
After we had booked the place, we saw a review about the bug infestation and uncleanliness of the property. We reached out to the host, concerned since we were traveling with kids, and he assured us that the place is deep cleaned.
Unfortunately, we found that was not the case. We found towels with pus and hair on them, the carpet had crumbs, and four dead hornets in the bedroom. Our first night there, one of the rooms had a big hornet flying around and the house had several wasps. We couldn't sleep in that room for fear of being stung. Our weekend stay there, we were without one room and sleeping in difficult conditions.
We notified the host about a possible wasp nest or opening near that room. The host was generally quick to respond, he tried to get a bug exterminator for the wasps but couldn't because it was memorial weekend, and he also allowed us a couple hours late check out, which was nice. However, when we communicated about the uncleanliness and the difficulties we faced and requested a partial refund for the dirtiness and the room we couldn't use, communication was ceased and we didn't hear back.
Otherwise, the house is located in a pretty neighborhood in the Finger Lakes area. Baby cot and air mattresses are available.
